A brief history

Porthmadog Dental Centre is believed to be the oldest practice in North Wales. There has been a dentist working at 76 High Street since 1876. Prior to this date the building house was a shipping brokerage company owned by Cadwaladr Williams.

The current owner, Dr Mark Brown aquired the practice in 2009 and has invested heavily to transform it into a wonderful state of the art facility.

We appreciate that many people are anxious about going to the dentist. We try to help by creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere to overcome any fears that you may have.

Your need for a friendly, flexible and efficient service is our priority. Our reception team are available by phone, email or in person throughout the day to help you with any queries relating to your care and treatment or to make an appointment.

The practice has disabled access to the building via a ramp and we also have a ground floor surgery. If you have any special requirements please let us know, we will do our very best to help.

At Porthmadog Dental Centre we love to see children smile too! Our aim is for the children in our practice to grow up with great teeth and the knowledge to help keep their teeth for life.

Our dental centre is a wonderful state of the art facility with digital radiography and intra-oral and extra-oral imaging. There is a fabulous surgery in bright friendly colours and all patients will be able to view the process of the treatment on plasma screens. We are planning to install another surgery in the not to distant future!

Digital imaging and radiography

At Porthmadog Dental Centre we have embraced the very latest techniques including intra-oral cameras and dental imaging software. Digital radiography reduces the dose or radiation to a minimum ensuring our patients safety. We will show you what treatment is needed and why; then we will show you your treatment as it is carried out and finally you will be able to see images of your treatment completed.

Payment options

From the outset we will always explain in detail all treatment options and their associated costs, so there will be no unpleasant surprises. We prefer that you settle your account, in full, at the end of every appointment. We accept cash and all major credit cards and also cheques accompanied by cards.
